GreaseStock 2008

Background

Greasestock will present its 5th annual celebration this May on the scenic grounds of Peter Pratt's Inn, a rustic 300 year old inn located just 25 miles north of NY City in Yorktown Heights, NY. From its humble beginning several years ago (an informal gathering of vegetable oil powered vehicles), the event has evolved into a more broad-based alternative fuel vehicle exhibit. Exhibitors will be showing a variety of alternative energy vehicles as well as other exhibits with a sustainable lifestyle theme (heating alternatives, organic farming, etc.). Last year the event drew extensive media coverage (NY Times, the Journal News, RNN cable TV, etc.) and approximately 250 ~ 300 attendees (including alternative fuel powered vehicles driving in from seven states. This event has become a showcase for renewable energy choices and other consumer alternatives that support a sustainable lifestyle. The event is open to the public; there is no admission fee. Activities will include demonstrations, exhibits, live music, food and more.

Vision

Greasestock seeks to promote alternative fuel technology and sustainable living through education, awareness and understanding. The Hudson Valley and greater New York metropolitan area is emerging as a leader in an economy with an increased focus on green technologies. We are looking for businesses that both support this goal and also will benefit from their association with the event.
